Kyle and Shannon got married at Rose Bank Winery, and honestly couldn’t have had a better day….minus the insane wind (but we totally kicked it’s butt)! I’d like to start by saying that it’s always fun shooting another photographers wedding. Kyle and I met a long, long time ago when we both shot Motorsports and cars for different blogs and media outlets. Kyle moved on to covering some awesome larger events and getting further involved in the motorsport industry. The exciting part about this was that Kyle and Shannon put full trust in me and let my mind run wild for their wedding day. They were both so easy going with anything I wanted to try. For Kyle and Shannon, although photography was a large part of their wedding day they had one main focus, and that was getting married and having a good time while doing it. A lot of times couples get so caught up in planning they forget what the day is really about. Not Kyle and Shannon. I remember meeting up with them for drinks before the wedding and them explaining to me, “whatever happens, happens, on the wedding day, as long as we get married, and our guests have a blast thats all we could ask for. We’re not really too caught up in the planning”. This really set the tone for me prior to shooting the wedding because I knew they just wanted to have fun, enjoy the day, and get married.
As the day started, we began at the first look and rolled into some portraits. From there we started the ceremony on the loft of the barn, where just below, the reception would eventually be taking place. The venue at Rose Bank Winery had such amazing character. We kicked off the reception downstairs which was beautifully transformed from a raw space, into a warm and cozy barn with string lights and the biggest bar selection I’ve seen at a wedding. Once entrees were finished, this party didn’t stop, it was nuts! Check it out! Thank you Colin Coleman for the help second shooting.
